　　教會如果放棄無誤論，將失去信仰與行為的準繩。歷時十多個世紀之久，大公教會或宗派即使對聖經的解釋有不同的意見，大致上都奉聖經為無誤的、神的話，具有至高的權威；然而，自從啟蒙運動以來，越來越多的聖經學者或神學家卻否認聖經的無誤。
