「約翰書信」是使徒約翰所寫的三封書信，寫作目的有二：牧養造就pastoral與衛道護教polemical。

教會的使命，對內而言，是造就信徒在至聖真道上，關鍵是信徒要認識永 生、知道自己有永生的確據，約翰壹書以「永生的測驗」三要點「真理、愛、順服」，作為循環的測試。

教會的使命，對外而言，是傳揚福音、駁斥異端，同樣要以「永生的測驗」金三角，來分辨異端假道的三特徵「謬妄、恨、悖逆」。「約貳」與「約叁」以實際例證說明「約壹」所闡明的道理。

 

教會處於現今將要敗亡的墮落世界，面對許多外在嚴打威脅（硬逼迫），更多侵蝕內部的軟性分化（軟逼迫）。今日教會面對世俗潮流衝擊，一般說來是真道不彰、貪愛世 俗、偏行己路。「約翰書信」所高舉的「生命之道」，是暮鼓晨鐘，喚醒在沉睡迷夢中的教會信徒，省察自己是否真正認識永生、真正有永生的確據，真正享受永生的喜樂!「約翰書信」宣告的真理，是今日教會的牧者必須傳講，會眾必須聆聽且持守的。如此才能使主的群羊，活在光明中、活在主愛中，追求聖潔敬虔、享受永生的確據。

 

《約翰書信研經》是作者根據原文解經的系列講道，編輯成簡明易讀的註釋，著重今日生活應用。本書以導論起 始，內容是按題分課、逐節查考。每課皆有問題討論，旨在幫助信徒仔細研讀「約翰書信」精義，適合各人每日研讀默 想、家庭靈修分享、團契小組查經、主日學課程。
