勞羅伯醫師，畢業於聖多馬(St. Thomas)醫學院。曾任英國里茲市(Leeds)聖雅各(St. James)醫院醫師，又轉任艾塞克斯(Essex)郡的古德美(Goodmayes)精神病院，後蒙召為英國國教(the Church of England Ministry)全職牧師。歐文的聖靈論簡讀本是勞醫師在得文市(Devon)時所完成的譯著。 他於1996年退休，目前在該市的佩根頓動物園(Paignton Zoo)作義工傳福音。
