　　神揀選摩西來帶領祂的子民。在摩西的生平裡，我們看到神的手不斷在他身上工作，例如讓他在出生後存活下來、在皇宮裡受教育、在曠野裡學習牧羊和謙卑……，這些都是為了培養摩西成為合適的領袖。因篇幅限制，無法列出所有重要的事件，但講述者可以視情況加以補充，像是描述十災和十誡的詳細內容；說明神用嗎哪來供應以色列人……等。更重要的是幫助孩子或初信者透過摩西來認識耶穌基督，例如耶穌為我們成全律法，祂是神和人之間的真正中保，以及祂成就真正的出埃及，救我們脫離撒但的黑暗權勢。
 
　　另外，神在西奈山頒布律法，不是要以色列人靠著遵守律法來賺取救恩。神是先拯救以色列人，然後才頒布律法，這可從十誡的序言看出來（出二十2）。摩西之約並非跟亞伯拉罕之約脫節，前者乃是後者的一種延伸。換言之，當神拯救祂的子民之後，祂就頒布律法來作為他們的生活準則，教導他們如何靠著神的恩典，在萬民中作祭司的國度和聖潔的子民。
